ChildCry Snap: Uganda

Friday, July 20th, 2012

In the Spring of  2012 ChildCry forged a partnership with a ministry called “The Forgiven Kids of Africa”; they oversee an orphanage of 100, located in Kampala Uganda. The final preparations have been completed and I’m happy to announce that since the beginning of July the children have been eating 3 meals per day, 7 days a week. Please pray for the administration as they gain experience and settle into this new ministry.

ChildCry Snap: Thank you, Karen Kang :)

Friday, June 8th, 2012

ChildCry has had the privilege to work with Karen Kang in preparation and organization for the triathlon held on May 19th and in creative collaboration for our brochures. Thank you, Karen, for the time and ideas you volunteered for us! This week’s Snap is a shout-out to you as a tiny gesture of our appreciation.

Kang specializes in art therapy for victims of sex trafficking, with a focus in the aftercare for those extracted. She uses love and art as stepping stones to freedom for the broken lives caught in the cycles of hopelessness and destruction. As Kang provides a safe space in the art process and her relationship with the victims, the girls learn to use both for communicating experiences and emotions that are too traumatizing to verbalize.

Next month, Karen will be moving to Mexico City to work with El Pozo de Vida (The Well of Life - www.elpozodevida.org.mx) in their rehabilitation program for under-aged victims of sexual exploitation. Karen will live and walk beside these young girls with the heart of a mother and training of an art therapist.

Que Dios te bendiga en Mexico Karen!!
