Last week, John Valentine of Sunnyside New York took a dip in the Hudson River for a couple reasons… one; let’s face it, it’s a great way to stay in shape and two; to raise money for ChildCry! Valentine, who’s been competitively swimming for a number of years recently returned from a missions trip to Central Asia where he had been helping out with a locally run orphanage. He had it on his heart to marry his swimming to his charity and raise money for the orphanage’s feeding program which is funded through ChildCry.
John placed 111th of 150 swimmers in the 1 & 1/2 mile race. He is planning to compete and raise funds for ChildCry again this coming September. Hooray John!
